should be there with 10.5 if my backs ok. Need to try out the new purchase before the nationals warmup. I'll bring the 17.5 car along as well, but might only run a couple of packs through.

hehe....come and have a look in the car on sunday...I might even do a back2back if I have time. Then again with the blue car it's simply a case of undoing 3 screws and out comes the speedo and motor I have all my spare gear pre set-up and ready to go as well, so switching betwwen the two should be easy Ed

Looking dodgy for tomorrow now. Ross's servo broke this afternoon, but worse Craig caught the corner of than d*mn wooden block under the rostrum. It hit the motor so hard that it bent back the motor mounting substructure by about 45 degrees. Haven't looked yet to see if there is any chassis damage and no idea if the 10.5 is still solid, the motor arm is rotating.Pissed off.

The good news is that Ross's car is up and running. As far as Craig's car goes, the engine carrier on the 009 is the same part number as the 008 except for the -O at the end. ;D The chassis looks OK and isn't displaying any tweak on the setup board and no other visible damage in the engine area.
But the timing ring (is that what is is called?) on the Nosram has moved. Now my understanding is that you are not be able to move that without undoing the 3 screws on the endbell; this does not fill me with optomism. Any views?

Pete on the Nosrams timing ring there is three slots if you are runing STD timing these should line up exactly with the black end cap mounting screws centers..Becarefull when messing with timing, rotate the timing ring no more than 5mm anti clock wise, even with this small adjustment you should alter you fdr to suit!

Thanks Les. Just to be sure, I wasn't mucking aorund with the timing, it was the wooden box by the track that decided to change it!

Will do Les. Glad to say Craig's 008&1/2 is built and seems OK and have fitted new 10.5 just in case, with connectors fitted differently so that the humungous fan now fits on - should be able to gear it up to around 3.15 ;D

Great day racing chaps, lots of PBs set - mine included!
And a big thumbs up to coking the track - first round or two were a bit variable but it settled down very nicely.
And what a lot of speedo talk!!

Well what a day that was! A late start and a Late finish but aside from that it was a tidy ship run well by Reuben, many thanks! Loadsa great things going on today, a fantastic suggestion by the Staples clan (newly rejoined) to coke the track as grip seemed to at a minimum first thing this morning! Also many many PBs smashed today, I took 6 seconds of my fastest ever with a 19/305 Reuben banged in a 20/314 in Q3 Craig did a PB for a single lap... What else happened?? - Chopper Jones Broke a lipo... it went all puffy! Samuraiblade showed us what he was made of in the 17.5 class.. although some expo help with a dx2 might be required if someone would be so kind! Many thanks also to the DMCRC Boys for coming along to run, it was great to see so many of you out there today. Apologies to Alan, I don't mean to be a grump - it's just the fist time I've ever broken a part on any car! (embarrassed smiley) Thanks also for Pete H, if we hadn't plugged into his generator then we'd have had serious problems running through the last round of finals! All in all, a great day, great turnout, great racing! Many thanks to all of you! hopefully we'll see you all next week for Reality Racing cup (Ed excluded he's off to play with some big boys... something about blueness and porn? West london?) Matt

well todays meeting was a success! even after being in a foul mood due to being minus a 17.5. But putting in the slow 13.5 got me a 20 lapper!
Many thanks to all that came and raced.
Speedo wars? I was told that the BEST EVER speedo will be available soon. But you may have to trade your soul and take out a small mortgage to own one.

Yahoo, 48hr motor racing ban imposed by her indoors is over. Great day yet again, temporary or permament ex Bashley racers are really missing out. Good to see 3 heats of ProStock. Craig went under 15secs for the first time and got a race PB too and he was dead chuffed about finishing on the same lap as Team Staples . Young Reubens is starting to get a bit fast isn't he, and with a 13.5 I think And little Ross was chuffed with his F1 win which would have been 2 if a stone had not dislodged his belt in F2 Roll on next week, although so far have failed to get a Gen 2 ESC and Lipo Bwahha

I appreciate this sport costs us all a lot of money and none of us can be happy when damage or accidents occur! You are very lucky not to have broken anything before (or just very good!). This was my first time racing at Bashley and my first time behind the sticks of a touring car, so a big thanks to all the marshals for your hard work (sometimes retrieving my car from the field next door or the stinging nettles on the top corner). Thanks to the DMCRC crew who were still building the car 5mins before the start, perhaps 13.5 wasn’t the best decision after all. Anyway, enjoyed it none the less, had a great time and well done Race Control for a good day. Alan.

Has anybody got any tips on driving a touring car, or ways to practice without causing a problem to others on the track? I have been driving m-chassis for a year, but found the touring cars speed a lot harder to control.
Alan

Alan, the main difference between a touring car and a mini, is that you have to slow down with the touring car!
With a mini you can often do whole laps without lifting off the throttle (if it's set up well enough), but with a touring car you need to concentrate on driving it like a road car, slow into the corner, and fast out.
Also, did you get anyone else to drive your car to see if there was any major setup issues?
