There seems to be enough local interest in off-roading to run a meeting or two at SHMCC.
The proposal is we meet at 12 noon on Saturday 8th August at the Bashley track, and if there's enough of us to be able to race (and marshall), we'll run a meeting on the 'practice' off-road grass track in the corner next to the tarmac track.
Non-members are welcome, though they all must hold current BRCA licences. Race fees will apply, tbc.
Electric 1/10th cars only. No nitro cars to be run at Bashley.
(The main track will be open for club members touring car practice as normal, and no off-roaders are allowed on the tarmac.)

Unfortunately we will be racing at Eastbourne this coming weekend. The good news is though that the off roader will have the KO VFS-1 C2 ESC installed with a 19T Checkpoint stuck on the end in time for the 2nd meeting ;D

Thanks Reuben, will get in touch off-forum re timing gear. Is your 2wd buggy up and running?
Pete: a 19T in a 2WD should be capable enough for a decent spin round!

Bump!
Fingers crossed we'll have decent weather on Saturday afternoon, so dust off your offroaders and bring them down.
Nothing too serious, any old buggy or truck will do. Even Tamiya Minis are great fun off road if you can get enough ground clearance! If anyone wants to borrow a set of suitable shocks and rally tyres to run a mini let me know - I run my m03 off road on short grass and it was surprisingly good!
We'll stick transponders in them and spin them round, 2 or 3 qualifiers and a couple of finals. (As it's a shorter meeting I suggest Wednesday fees will be charged.)

It's looking like a glorious hot dry day!
So see you at 12 noon for a few hours of playing with off-roaders!

Off roading fun was great, the Ansmann Madrats were very impressive for their price, bargain!
Thanks to everyone for coming down, and for all pitching in to build the track, I think most people liked the layout?
Next one Saturday 29th?

We got enough for a couple of heats first meeting. Quite a few locals have bought buggies since the meeting so hopefully more will turn up for the next one on the 29th.
