-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i have a Yokomo Mr 4TC and it is by no means a cheap car and should be able to cope with anything i can throw at it but i have upgraded to a 4.5t Novak GTB Brushless and at my local club its no possible to push my car for the entire race (3 mins) due to the tempreature in the rear diff getting too high and melting the diff pulley which is plastic i have tried diffrent diff pressures and lubricants non work in lowering the temprature. I am now looking at getting a Xray T3 will i have the same problem with this car or is there an aluminium diff pulley avaliable?

yokomo bd diff is nearly same as scythe and i also had this problem of melting the plastic i found it comes from running the diff too loose ( in the end my diff was tightened up all the way and backed off 1/8 turn) i also ran my 4.5 in the scythe last year as well with no problems after i learnt the diff setting. on the photon though the diff goes as loose as possible, funny how different cars have different settings.

Melted diffs was a common problem a few years ago with the early MR4 Yokomo's. You needed to be dead accuarate with your tension or they either melted or broke the diff screw.
Not so much of a problem these days with most cars. You still need to get them right but melted ones are few and far between now.
