Looks like 3racing are trying to get into the TC market. With the cost of their other products. And fairly good hop ups, this will make this very interesting..... unless they jump onto the £300+ tc bandwagon. However I will warn you now. Lots of Pink and Flowers! www.3racing.hk/sakura-zero/english/Discuss:

looks like cyclone front and rear bulkheads with a copy cat xray t3 motor mount and top deck.. tasty! - the rear Diff in the photo although from a side profile looks like it might be from the 416...
there's some bit bits of ally on it, which will make it sturdy no doubt,
Steering looks like a cyclone re-do, however the split mounting without a screw on the centre line is interesting -
lay shaft comes from the photon..
I'm not sure where they got the idea about having the gap between motormount/layshaft and top deck - but it'll stop uneven tweak!

looks like the rear bulkhead has a simular shocktower to the photon mounted right at the back

I would imagine a lot of the main manufacturers are starting to worry with the sudden influx of these 3Racing kits.
Also I guess, seeing as they've made a lot of hop ups for Tamiya it's easy for them to make something that works on a Tamiya priciple ?

This and the spur gear mount look direct Photon copy's to me??? Interesting point:note the rear shocks, inboard of the tower(Photon) but the fronts are outboard of the tower (conventional)....Long top deck as per T3 along with similar lower arm mounts too....Never is it Pink surely its got to be purple?? who the hells going to buy a pink car ;D

Aparently the colour translation is "Cherry blossom" or as some one on another forum put...A bit like a 3racings Cyclone hop up part thats been left in the sun for a while ;D....It looks like they have copied some of the best parts from other makes,A Photon 416 love child with an Xray uncle ;D.....word on the street is that it will be under £300 poss £280

Aparently the colour translation is "Cherry blossom" Cherry Blossom is very sacred and has meaning to the Japanese, sorry that's all I know and can't remember why but it's probably some deep seated traditional thing that we're actually missing and they've done for a reason !

Apparently 3racing are not a Japanese company, they just nick the terminology

Looks like a lot more info has been posted on this. Its shaping up to look like an impressive car.
One thing caught my attention (roller diff). more contact so possibly run it looser without slip?

Post by Dave Chamberlain on Feb 5, 2010 16:48:05 GMT
Yep more contact area, you get a contact line with a roller and not the point as with a ball.. Should also generate less wear and should be smoother as the load is spread over a wider area.. Only disadvantage I can see is weight, your gonna get more "flywheel" effect with those "heavy" rollers!!!

Only disadvantage I can see is weight, your gonna get more "flywheel" effect with those "heavy" rollers!!! Sounds interesting,it just seems strange that no other make has tried this in the past Tapered roller bearings have been about for donkeys....the only possible down side's that I can see is the the ball type diff allows a certain amout of "rock/pully float" which allows the diff pully to be self aligning with the belt and spur pully, the roller type may not??? also as Dave said the load is spread over a larger area on the plates but this also may have more contact area too where they rotate in the pully causing drag??

Good point about the additional drag in the spur Les..
Looks like there are pros & cons (as always!) but it's an interesting concept and as you say, why has nobody tried this before??

Its pink what you all moaning about my kinda car! Anyone know how much it is? xx It looks like it will be released in April charwee, you'd better butter up Dad for a prezzie! ;D According to some blurb they have been tested already, with some surprising results, the build and component quality has been compared to other top makes with no complaints one racer go's as far to say better than a T3... But there seems to be a bit of confusion regarding the new roller brg diff operation and drive "feel", smooth but a little tight across the axel ....Ok for carpet not for tarmacs lower grip (not my words) Apparently the Pinks better in the flesh compared to the photos, more like a weakly anodized Cyclone, Mi4 or an anemic Photon ......better than a "tap and crack" chocolate orange anyway ;D Ideal SHMCC test pilot should be Mr "snake hips" Lloyd,a pink car should get him even closer to the ladies

Hi Pete you wily old trout lol,I wondered when you were going to rise to the bait,Ive been baiting you for a couple of posts ,must be getting wise to me by now?? ;D....mind you when one has been hooked and landed a couple of times it must make one a bit weary No chap not mine Im a 100% Photon man now even my Mi4 is sold!..im just having a passing interest in this pink thing as it seems to of borrowed some of the best design ideas off the top brands,Tamiya, Xray and TOP besides at £235 it might be a good up grade for some of our members from the fun Ansman

LOL a lunch of maggots was worth the dream Les; £50 I should co-co . The 009 at the moment is handling better than ever, on the corners it makes Reubs MI4 SP or whatever look positively oil tankerish; just hope I can translate it into the warmer months.Mind you it is so frigging wide it is tricky to get past. But our cunning two stage plan for extra straightline speed hopefully will see stage 1 start on Sunday, if only we had more than one 13.5 so we could take it to the limit and back . Once complete we will be ready to take on the whale ;D
