Well guys, It looks like this Wednesday night is going to be Awesome!!.. Thanks to Mr C we have flood lights, and they have been tried and tested this evening and found to provide adequate lighting even for Pro Stock (Apologies, I meant Super-Stock) cars travelling at the speed of light, even when the sky is virtually pitch black. I look forward to seeing you all there for our first Outdoor Wednesday night of 2010 I'll be running 13.5.. Who will join me? And whats everyone else going to run?

Nothing quite like flood-light racing. The light makes the track look silky smooth - so your surprised when the car kicks up. for some reason the blue front end on my shell meant i could not see the car - bar the little white squares on the bonet when it was coming towards me. so bring your brightest coloured shell When we were playing in the flood lighten track, my 32's were giving some good grip, even in the dark. oh 13.5 for me too ! dont forget guys, eco, mini's, F1's are all welcome to race wednesday night outdoors - we may have to put some classes together but as long as you dont mind mixing if need be. Plus with outdoors you wont break as much unless you want to hit the thermometer hard or at a funny angle. Pete are you sure those Tekin's are energy saving? have you not seen the amount of extra amps these boosting speedos are taking out of the packs. Yeh 10.5 will be fine Pete.

Pete are you sure those Tekin's are energy saving? have you not seen the amount of extra amps these boosting speedos are taking out of the packs. Yeh 10.5 will be fine Pete. Ah you are getting confused with eco unfriendly 17.5s Reubs The Tekin 10.5 only uses partial throttle for most of the lap and comes off at <40c. Compare that to a maxed out 17.5 coming off at 75c+. Save the planet I say Says the man who owns a Gas Guzzling Corvette Ah it's all about carbon credits Reubs. Wall insulation to 2004 building regs, thatched roof insulation, wood fires all put me in credit for my minor indulgence. And don't forget with fuel tax and engine tax I am helping to stop your income tax going up - so with a 10.5 and a Vette the planet and the individual benefits. Modesty prevents me seeking adulation. (much clapping from the the audience at Hyde Park corner)

Have you ever thought about taking up politics Pete ? I think you would be a natural mate.

Great idea Darren, I could book all my RC expenditure to expenses and spend the day running the 10.5 up and down the corridors of power

OK folks,
weather is looking good for Wednesday night & some flood lit fun!! We've got some lighting for the car park area so you can all see where you are going but I would suggest you bring a torch for any close up car work!

assuming my replacement pulleys arrive, ill still be racing.... but tbh even in the light I cant spot the problem: I have NO idea how long thats been like that, but ive had issues with the car on power stepping out for about 2 months now, and never been able to cure it... rwd racing anyone? and yes thats ALL the teeth on the side thats connected to my front belt and spool..

Sounds like you have been running your front belt too loose...did the car make an occasional dull "clicking" or short "farty" type noise under hard acceleration/ braking Many moons ago I made the mistake of running my belts slack thinking it was less Transmission drag...wrong 5 to 6 mm deflection is apparently correct for the long front belt otherwise a slack belt will oscillate(bounce) at speed causing even more drag. A good clue if you are running a slack/slipping belt is the teeth become bit "fluffy" on one side(tooth edge)

ha, you know what Les, mine had been getting a bit fluffy and i couldn't work out why - all the pulleys look fine - maybe its the tension - i'll whack it up a notch of slcc I think!

Great meeting last night guys, THANKS to all who came down and had some flood lit fun We're going to try to improve the lighting at the top banking for next week if possible, but generally the temporary lighting worked well and allowed racing to continue past 9:30! Hopefully it will be a little warmer next week, so look forward to seeing everyone again Wednesday night
