What a weekend that was!130 drivers with some top names included! Unless you were prepared to run you motors and ESC's to the "enth" you were no where regardless of the best set up! Due to the tracks nature horse power and fierce braking was badly needed, this loaded the motors and ESC's to the point of popping or thermaling the ESC ( I done 2 motors )...The days temps didn't help but It was extremely hard to find a balanced profile and gearing to suit.If you were to "run safe" another car would pull at least 30 foot on you down the strait, so as the tracks flowing and fast it was near impossible to make this up on the infield!even the top mod drivers were having probs. As for me ,the first round I quallied 4th fastest,2nd round I dropped back to 7th (overheated tyres) the 3rd round I was predicted TQ until a back marker that I had already lapped twice forced me into the grass. As for the final ....I unfortunately hit a GM ESC powered car up the rear that had stalled off the start grid but I drove on to a respectable 4th with a split chassis and badly tweaked car....I didn't run the last final due to the damage to my car (went home with the hump At least the new Photon chassis is an improvement on a fast flowing high grip track!! Ps considering the TOP team was seriously out numbered (only 7) by the dreaded MI4 ;D...each car made an A final in all classes

To be fair each podium in every class was pretty much a sea of blue.. - it was more like spot the drivers who aren't Schumacher! not really sure thats a great thing - but it is a schumacher series so i guess that gets more people involved.
The GM that stalled on the line was mine (my brand new speedo! it's only two weeks old!) which I still feel really bad about I was helpless.. I could steer it, just not pull away! (almost 20 others piped up with the same issue as i'd reported when i was talking in the pits!)
Certainly an eye opener to meet some more of the schumacher "team" - Yellow car in the finals springs to mind.. "lapping! this corner please!" You're 10 feet away, Piss off! LOL
some interesting fastest lap and run times from the cars..
stock fastest laps; 1: Scott hauser 18.078 6:Mason Sadler 18.544 7:Les 18.708 8:Matt 18.824
Stock fastest 18.078 Prostock fastest: 16.912 Mod fastest: 15.072 Brian Eldridge (Photon)
Perhaps the gap with the Gen 3 speedos is similar on a larger track - or perhaps the 10.5s are only really stretching their Gen3 legs round a track as big as Cotswolds! either way - the straight is still sooooooo long!
I qualified 5th, with an improvement in the final round - the heat sort meant that I had people in my heat who were a lap or two down on pace.. and they wanted to pull up and stop on line..
I finished 6th over all - adding 94 points to the 99 points I took from the first round! Most importantly the car felt absolutely awesome for the first time in a while!
apologies once again to Les, I was stuck.. sorry mate .. love you!

Cotswolds sorts out the men from the boys Matt - that's motors not drivers! Two years ago Craig was holding his own in the SLCC racing 27T against 13.5; made A final at Yately and Bashley but come Cotswolds he was nowhere to be seen. Won the C final narrowly beating a young newbie by the name of Reuben if I remember correctly ;D

yeh thats cos my steering knuckle came off in the last lap - meaning Craig pipping me to the post. otherwise I would have secured 1st But anyway that was the C final and my 2nd regional event ever and third month racing ever Nice track, but evertime i go I break something - first time it was the steering setup and shock tower that went, 2nd time it was a chassis along the pit straight. Good results from both Les and Matt... I wouldnt fancy going on that hot day to blow motors :S. Bashley was hot enough and the motors were getting toasty

sadly Les no - I'm going to stick with the GM which I know you think will be a bad idea. the issue is so widespread accross many gm runners that they're gonna have to release an update to repair it.. I cant afford to buy anything new right now either.. they've given me a temporary fix.. but i've made all the right people well aware of the issue!

Well all I can say is "good luck "......Once I got a sniff and experienced these probs with my GM it got reset back to std and demoted to sensorless in my wet car.It wasn't going to ruin my day again ...Even Tekins are suffering weird probs now with runaways and sudden violent steering glitches. Ill be sticking to the SXX untill probs are sorted, plus Ive yet to be out horsed with this simple speedo....perhaps going back to "spec"speedos might be the future???

Have to say, I was pretty happy with the BTCC... less than 0.5s off the A in pro-stock, and one of the Losi's did make it Not so keen on the temp though, the X12 consistently coming off at 95-100... could have got it cooler, and certainly know which way to go for future reference. Tried a few things out in the setup to cope with the heat, and whilst they might not have been quicker over one lap, certainly were more consistent And Pro-stock was incredibly close, something like 2seconds covering 7-14th on the grid..

What engine timing do you run Ed? Not that I like the term but we run the X12 with the 10 degree retard adaptor

retard....engine...motor... LOL!

LOL Matt we actually agree. Advanced timing and retarded timing are an absolute reference to TDC, and I'll brook no argument on this one, reducing 30 degrees advanced timing to 20 degrees advanced timing is not retarding the timing - but then LRP/Nosram do not speak the Queen's English to be fair.

run it with the -10 (oooo) insert, and then up to 45° on the ESC...
