Has anyone established that one set type is better performing than the other? Nothing I have read references this.
If not, why not just accept the situation and let people run what they have paid for as they have been abiding by the rules.

hi pete , yes there is a big difference between the older 32s and the latest 32s ! the origional 1s give good grip and the wear rate is pretty good . the newer 32s are very inconsistent ,give weird grip due to firmer insert and less airgap . they also wear faster due to less lactural grip (scrubbing) . its not a good situation to be in as i amongst others have 3 or more sets that are useless .

Hi Glen, I am probably being a bit dumb but I just want to make suure I have this right. Is the inference that the BRCA may want people to hand in their "old" good performance ones for newer "poorer" performing ones? I have 6 or 7 unused sets, 4 or 5 arriving after the recent out of stock position. I am assuming I want to hang on to my older style ones for non BRCA events, yes? Being at work I am guessing that my sets all have the same, original, product number. Iis it easiy enough to tell the difference in firmeness with your fingers without being a superstar

you can feel a difference from set to set, all of my sets were bought this year, and have the "wrong" insert in them - they're more akin to a 28JB rather than last years 32's
from what I gather a statement is expected today..

I see I got that wrong, so neither my new gen 1 nor gen 2 tyres will be acceptable. What with the Sweep fiasco it has not been a good year for tyres has it - he says weeping over the £180 plus investment in Sorexes and Sweeps he has made in the past couple of months.
Matt when you say like the 28JB - would I better to hold them until the colderbut Autumn and Spring months, Oct/Nov/Mar/Apr?

i've no idea Pete, they're better than sweeps for sure, however they'll not be great in the cold months unless the track is hot..
when i say they're more like a 28JB - a 28JB has a harder insert and a smaller airgap - JB stands for Jaco Blue.. the insert of choice for carpet it would seem... so these 32's MAY be better on Carpet than standard 32's but who know's I'll be at cotswolds so i'll change the tyres i've got there.. it's a right pain in the bottom, and certainly reading around the internet, some real bad feeling about what has happened...
