i am running a maverick strada and i was thinking of changing the gearing to made it go a little faster not sure what is in it now but some one did to me to change it to 20 tooth pinion and a 64 tooth spur. would this work. please help i am new to all this.

the pinion is the small metal one, the spur is the large plastic one..
take the small one off and work out what number it has on it.. then pop town to Terry@ reality and buy two either side of it... that'll give you a range of five gears, which is plenty.. then just try them out! following these rules
The bigger the pinion = slower accelerating, but highher top speed The smaller the pinion = faster accelerating but lower top speed
once you've got that in your head all you've got to worry about it keeping the heat down.. below 85 degree's is a must on a sealed motor like in the Maverick i'd say!
