LOL Team South Hants has been drawn in the same qualification heat. Les if you could slow down at the start of Q1 Craig can follow you round and learn the best lines ;D
CU there buddy, I think we will miss Practice 1, 8:35 is a bit unsociable!

The track was playing up today , following the rain no doubt. The good thing was (for us) that Jay was finding it similar. The inner circle was just grotesque. The mighty Tekin was just awesome after Jay suggested a change, and that's wthout 208 ;D. Mind you got home and hour an half late so well in the doghouse.

Thought I would drop a report on the Aldershot Nats. Our first Nats, two very long days but most enjoyable and extremely well organised. Watching the likes of Elliott Harper, Chris Grainger, Glen Westwood, Ollie Jeffries et all in Mod was just something else altogether. The speed and skill level was mind boggling. Spectacular moment in the 1st final when Chris G was leading Elliott H by a couple of car lengths on the straight. If you remember the film of the Mercedes on the Mulsanne Straight at Le Mans… well Chris’s front of the car lifted and the car took off, about 2-3 feet in the air doing a complete loop and he landed on his wheels and carried on. The first time I have ever seen someone overtake by going underneath the other car!! Qualifying heats were seeded and not having done the Nats before Craig and Les were in heat H. The ability level was very varied. Craig and Les were a lap and ½ faster than the3rd guy and anywhere between 2-4 laps faster than the rest. The issue was traffic and avoiding crashes, getting caught up in crashes and getting slowed up on the straight and the banking. Qualifying was round by round and after the 3 qualies on Saturday Craig had scored 46/54 (car handling went awol)/35 (D final pace); so an E looked tough but possible. The 2 qualies on Sunday though didn’t go too well. Q5 wasn’t bad but on the penultimate lap Craig grip rolled on the sweeper, an expensive mistake in terms of time. So we ended grid position 6 in the F final, Les was grid 10 and we were joined by Rob Howett in grid 2; felt like an SHMCC final! In F1 Craig got up to 3rd at the end of lap 2, then fell back to 4th then grip rolled on the sweeper again which cost him 10 seconds – more than 2/3rds lap! Which pretty much put him at the back off the pack. The hilarious thing was that later he caught Rob up, who thought Craig was lapping him and pulled over to let him past ;D. So 5th and the grip roll was costly, had Craig been 1.46 secs faster he would have got 3rd. A tactical change to heavier front shock oil sorted the sweeper problem, if only dad had figured that one out on Saturday . F2 saw a good close race finishing with a 3rd and Les just behind in 4th. He was in 3rd with a lap or 2 left but had a crash with a back marker which let Craig through. Then in F3 Craig finally dusted of the rust from his layoff with a 2nd, a 21 lapper and a difference between fastest lap and average lap of just .05 sec. If he hadn’t caught the curb on the chicane and rolled it his avr time would have faster than his best time . So 3rd overall, a nice framed certificate and a great end to a super meeting.
