SLCC 2010 Round 5 15th August At SHMCC Bashley SHMCC extends a warm welcome to all SLCC round 5 drivers, we look forward to a weekend of close competition Directions to track. We are located in Hampshire on the edge of the New Forest National Park, the nearest town being New Milton. The track situated behind the Danestream farm shop on the B3055 Sway road, post code for satnav is BH25 5QU. Please note we are unable to offer the adjacent field for parking/pitting this year so as space will be a little snug please park and pit where directed on arrival. Local facilitiesThe Danestream farm shop sells a variety of fresh & chilled produce as well as operating a sandwich counter with hot & cold filled rolls, pies, pasties etc.. The shop is open until 5pm on Saturday and from 9:30 to 1pm Sunday. We also have The Plough Inn situated a few hundred meters along from the Farm Shop, which apart from the obvious beer! Also serves hot & cold food. Please note we would recommend driving to the Pub as the road is a little dangerous to walk along as there is no foot path. If you fancy a take-away, then New Milton is the place to go, with several Chip Shops, Indian & Chinese restaurants as well as burger/kebab take-aways. Use BH25 6LW (Station road) or BH25 6DN (Old Milton road) for your satnav.. We should also mention there is a Tesco Express located in Old Milton road.. If you need petrol or a bigger shopping experience, the large Tesco store located on the outskirts of New Milton is the closest place BH25 5PX is the post code to use. CampingUnfortunately due to the high cost of renting the camping field adjacent to the track we are unable to offer on site camping facility this year. If you wish to camp please use the contact details at the bottom of this post to get information on local sites. The closest Premier Inns are the Three Bells in Hordle (S041 0FN) or The Somerford, Christchurch BH23 3QG, however there are lots of guest houses, B&B’s and small private hotels around New Milton & Barton on Sea areas. Track Opening times are as followsSaturday - Gate opens 10:30am open practice 11am – 6pm, Gate closed at 6:30pm Sunday - Gate open 7am - open practice until drivers briefing at 8:45am For further info or questions please e-mail dave@shmcc.org or call 07824877929

Thanks all that helped out and did not race. wouldn't have gone so well without your help guys. Had a great meeting, qualified 1st in B final (good for me) then proceeded to forget to race my first final . Got a pointless 3rd in second final giving me 7th. Beat my PB though and well enjoyed the day.

Thanks to Ian and Dave for a well run meeting and all the other guys who made it possible, many thanks. Well bizarre day. Laying 10th after lap 1 in F1 (if someone could point out to car 9 that other people's cars are not there for additional braking and a broken deck and top deck costs over £100 ) and 9th (out of 9 runners) after lap 1 in F2 we still managed to eke out an A final 2nd; as they say its never over until the fat lady sings– thanks for the help Reuben. ;D ;D ;D ;D Then there was us, Chris and Reuben – that I know of – all having interference and issues on the 2.4ghz technology. Never happened to us before so someone somewhere… and the ignominy of grid penalty. Mind you the sun came out and 208 seemed to work OK. Good to see young Simon driving well too; did Craig own up to nudging the car that hit the car that bounced of Reuben and took you out.

For Chris and Reuben, I turned the electronics on this afternoon and the ESC and transmitter bound straightaway, 5 secs later they dropped and while I was sitting there thinking swear words 10 secs later they linked again and stayed that way for 5 mins when I switched off. So that takes out the variable of any local interference at the track.
