Just noticed that my 17.5 duo 1 has got really hard to manually turn the rotor . I have opened it up and checked /cleaned/re oiled the bearings and they are smooth as anything. When I put it back together it wont spin freely. Before when the motor was not in the car you could hold it buy the shaft and spin the motor for ages. Also when I put it onto the speedo it runs for a few seconds and then gets slower and slower as if the battery is running flat, but the battery is fine. Any ideas chaps could it be a new rotor needed or has the whole thing had it ? Any chance of a PX on your one Jason ;D

Sounds like a short somewhere, or a blown winding (that would also be causing the short).
Does it feel like your turning the rotor in treacle?

Make sure there is no solder between the ESC wire conecting post on the motor ,just a tiny bit can cause a short and make the motor as Reuben said feel like "turning in Treacle" buy hand(two windings are joined)....even remove the end plate to check further down

Thanks Les and Reuben the problem was a small nick of solder accross 2 phases at the bottom of the solder tabs inside the endbell.Cleaned them all off and spinning free as a bird again. ;D Would have taken me ages to find that otherwise. Thats the first thing I will check from now on though.
