Hi everyone.
Was talking to a couple of other club members today and I had an idea.
How do other members feel about increasing the membership fee from £20 to £30 per annum (not incuding BRCA fees) - family membership increased by £5 and no increase for juniors.
I know the present economic climate does not lend itself to money being thrown around but I think the respective £10 and £5 increases represent really good value.
This will allow the committee to instantly allocate the increased proportion of the income towards the track without other activities being affected. I know this is a bit late for the AGM but I am unable to get there due to work.
The other thing I think should be insisted upon is the payment of track fees for practice - this is only £1 per visit per member but if everyone paid for each session, there would be a significant increase in income. However, juniors should be allowed to practice free and I also feel that if anyone is truly prevented from using the track by having to pay the fees, they be given confidential dispensation by the committee to practice for free.
I do not want ANY increase in race day fees.
These are only ideas for consideration so what does everyone else think of them? Again, I would not like to see anyone punished since we all know that these are tough times, but for those who can afford it, I think it makes sense.
Feedback and thoughts greatly appreciated.
Chris
