Ok a problem I have had recently that I cannot explain, perhaps someone out there can.
I have 2.4ghz system fitted in two of my cars with no problems whatsoever, both using the same transmitter (different model memory setting obviously)
I now wanted to fit 2.4ghz to two of my other RC projects so bought a new reciever (same as the others I have been using) and fitted it to one model. Went through all the binding procedure, in fact did this in Terry's shop in front of him and the model worked fine.
Used it that afternoon no problem. Sunday morning the model would not come on, reciever just flashed as if no connection. Went through the binding procedure again but still did not work. A few hours later I tried again, went through the binding procedure and this time it worked. Model is fine and no problem.
However, before work this morning I tried it again and once more the reciever just flashes and is not connecting.
Anyone had this problem? is there something causing it that I cannot find.
Before you ask, transmitter and recievers are all the same manufacturer but the speedos I am using are different. Would that make any difference? I did at one point fit a normal 40mhz radio and it worked straight away.
I am wondering if certain speedos are maybe not compatible or is that not possible.

what about temperature Ian? some electronics will loose their data etc and malfunction below a certain temperature? maybe over night in the garage it was cold enough to have an effect on the electrics.. - it's not something i'd normally think of, but perhaps the system just isn't as robust to temperature changes like others.
Kinda like the club transponders on a wednesday night thing, where they do strange things around dusk and as the dew falls..

Hi Ian,
Have you tried one of your older RX in the new model just to rule out the new RX?? Would also rule out the speedo if all worked fine..
I've had a brand new savox servo cause the BEC side of the ESC to die when steering, this initially looked like a RX issue as I lost both steering & throttle and the led on the RX would be off (until the ESC reset)
I've never had an issue with intermittent "binding" of 2.4 despite using cheaper Acoms & Ansmann kit with multiple RX/models

Well temperature is not a problem as my "shed" is heated so there is no overnight drop.
Tonight I am going to try the reciever in another car that is working OK and also will try it with another speedo.
Dave I will try the reciever out of my mini as that has always worked fine and see what happens. Good point and should have tried that before.
Strange because I put the original reciever back in the model last night ( a 2,4ghz system that it came with) and it worked straight away with no problem and was still OK this morning.
It has to be either a faulty reciever or an incompatability with the speedo/servo etc.

Dry solder joint on the receiver?

Tried the receiver in another car last night and would not work until I did a re-bind ( Iam sure you should not have to keep doing that) after that it worked fine. My old receiver worked OK in the other model.
Something very odd here. Can only be the receiver I reckon.

Sounds like an intermittent issue with the new RX Ian
