Had a lovely weekend!
Thanks to all of you people who turned up early and helped out!
Geoff for the doin' wires.
Keith and the crew for possibly the longest bbq on record.. think we had it on for a whole 12 hours!
Darren for running a well stocked shop
Onetens fantastic food wagon
Mrs H for running scrutineering
Rob/Mark/Simon for doing the Race control jobby!
Ed Clark for letting me break his M03R
The list just goes on! I guess it just shows what a brilliant bunch of people are in the SLCC Cup and how much fun we have a SHMCC!!!!
Go team!

What a stonker, what a result Highlights Seeing Ian enjoying himself Graham's 21 laps A lot of stonking performances from the home drivers Matt ripping his car apart on the home straight (not good for him obviously but great spectator entertainement ;D Seeing Ian taking his 13.5 missile down the home straight and forgetting to turn right at the end. Dan & Craig showing that you can still do well with cheap 30 quid motors Lowlights Profanities and threating langague on the rostrum by A final stock drivers, especially with kids present. Poor driving and total lack of track etiquette by many B and A finalists - thought they were meant to be the creme

Poor driving and total lack of track etiquette by many B and A finalists - thought they were meant to be the creme My wife said the same thing I must admit, I was a little vocal on the rostrum myself when two marshals failed to spot my car go into the fence, which cost me a whole lap and messed my head up for the rest of the race I did apologise to the other racers on the rostrum for my sarcastic outburst though just heat of the moment!!! Sorry marshals as well (whoever you were) Great performance from Ian and Adam coming 1st and 2nd.

I had a great day too, thanks to everyone, and to the weather for giving us a clear day.
I'm still trying to work out if I hadn't had accidentally let Adam through accidentally in leg 2 would it have affected the outcome! I'm not too concerned, I should have let him tell me that he was lapping rather than assuming it!

Yup had a good day myself, couldn't quite believe I was still third in Pro-stock after the second round!! Still, made the A, which was the key... even manged a 20 lapper with 3 18s and 1 16s lap, I think I'm learning the circuit now First race was less than impressed by being put on my roof in the first corner, and being left behind... I got my own back though (won't mention how on here, but sufice to say I was impressed with my own slyness, and those who pitted close to me know ) Second final... apologies to Dan, tagged him in the first turn, so waited to let him back by... unfortuantly he got tagged a few times on the way... then hit him again later on trying to pass onto the straight, simply got caught out with the closing speed between the brushed a brushless, was expecting him to accelerate much quicker. Again waited, but we both got tagged heavily. Made sure the first thing I did off the rostrum was to apologise though.. my mistake. Oh and look out this weekend, have a few friends down from sheff.. and they want to run mod (actually, more correctly, one refuses to run anything but mod!), so that'll be three nutters out there then... Les, you man enough ?

Dont worry about that because there was a pre race mistake with putting in too many com drops (silly brushed motors) which greatly restricted the speed for a few laps, so really it was my fault for not warning u... but hey thats racing ;D i still got 4th overall even with sum dodgey overtaking by Mr Townsend who took away my 2nd place position oh and ive now cracked the top 10 in the slcc, Mark your 9th

I've just spotted the points from the final, if I hadn't let Adam by, I'd have ended up with the 3rd place spot overall with Adam still in second. D'oh!

Second final... apologies to Dan, tagged him in the first turn, so waited to let him back by... quote] Walking back to the pits after the 2nd A final I mentioned to Craig that he ought to apologise to Barry for advertently taking him out. Some pr*t from Yateley who was walking beside us commented that he woudln't do that. So I pointed out that at our club not only would we apologise we would also wait for the marshall to put the car back. Pity they don't follow what their race director preaches to visiting drivers.

STCC has 6.5/LiPo... but I reckon a 5.5 might be closer.. who knows (end thread hijack..)

Well, it's just simple racing etiqute, isn't it. You hit someone and take them off the track, you wait till there back on and in front of you before going... unless it was absolutely not your fault (a sideways les-speed into the top hairpin springs to mind... but I did ask if it was ok to carry on afterwards, otherwise I would have stopped to let him back by). And Dan.. I would say 4.8 to 5.0 for the Nosram round the track. And you'll defo need the grunt for cotswolds... it's big! (nice and wide too )

thats the plan for sunday!! wot gear ratios do u recommend for a nosram 10.5, i noticed on the spec sheet that a guy was runnin a nosrasm 10.5 at 4.69, is that the rite area Depends on his punch setting Dan,I dont know much about the Nosram 10.5 but what Ed recomends is sound advise and seems safe to start with! It depends on driving styles Dan!..one lad in my heat was cooking his Novak "thermaling out" at 4.9 yet I had a happy motor at 4.77, I expect he had max punch with a heavy thumb action ..keep your punch very low untill you get used to the extra torque,10.5s have the low speed punch close to a 12/14x1 brushed. Dont read to much into spec sheets either..If you found an slight edge with set up/ratio combo at an important meeting would you tell a non team member??I would'nt !!but I'd tell a mate

ok kl, i expect we'll start with 5.1 just to be safe because i really dont want to over heat the motor

Fixed my LRP after the initial problems and assuming it's the Nosram equivalent you're using Dan (i.e sintered and version 2) I was running it at 5.1 on Wednesday night and it was OK. Go up a tooth or two when you're comfortable with the punch. By the way mine is down to minimum on the ESC and -25% on the transmitter.
I would also recommend a fan to keep it cooler at lower gear ratios. The LRP super cooler takes about 20` from the motor and makes it rapid while keeping it cool to the touch.

The Yeovil Club would like to say a big thank you to SHMCC for their round of the SLCC. As per normal, a very well run and organised event. All our racers had a good weekend, we did not get the results we would have liked but there is always next time ;D.
a big thank you to Les Baldry for his assitance with the 008, that man is a star.
See you all at the West London round.
Trev [Chairman].
