Thinking that next week we should be going back indoors, was wondering what everyone will be doing in way of classes. Andrew and I have minins ready to race but I suppose could turn back to TC if really necessary. I know there are a few others who raced mini last year so will be interesting to see who does what this year.

Front wheel drive or rear wheel drive again its a fun class so does it matter. Motor? Not sure, most are using a 20t Saturn which is probably worth trying although I have put 15t Firebolts in ours for the first race.

What spec mini,s,what size motor,2wd or 4wd what body shell any other bodys When we say Minis Martin were talking about the Tamiya Minis. M03, M05, M06 are all applicable cars. M03 and M05 being fwd, M06 being rear. You can get them with all sorts of different bodyshells. Im looking forward to it! Minis always looked like a a good laugh!

Sean and I would prefer to run Minis. So count us as another two.
When we have run them in the past, it was with a Saturn 20t. But from memory, a Tamiya Sport Tuned motor was also allowed.

I think the "norm" with other clubs is the 20t Saturn. Will run the Firebolts to see how they go next week then if there is enough of us maybe change to the Saturn. I feel the need for more speed though......
Perhaps 13.5 boosted?

Think we'll stick with the 20t Saturn, 13.5 boosted might well destroy the internals of the car (and the track, stage, spectators etc). Actually, the only time we ever churned up the gears was while running 20t motors for SICC/SWICC. Never had a single problem with the 27t.
They run 20t Saturn at DMCRC, the track there is quite large. At the smaller Bransgore track, the 27t motor is perfect. I'd say the Memorial Hall fits somewhere between the two in size.

I know I'm not a member anymore and probably don't deserve an opinion but will anyway lol
I think the whole point of mini racing is close fun racing which 27 turn Saturn brings and lower tyre wear. not everyone who will run mini can handle 20 turn and 15 turn is just madnesses!

When I first started at SHMCC I raced my 27t mini indoors and it was flat out everywhere. So 20t is definitely the way to go! As its quick enough for a challenge but not too quick for beginners.
George will be racing his m05 but only has a 15t fire bolt. Does anyone have a 20t Saturn spare they can sell?
And also if anyone has a decent ish servo (new or 2nd hand) for sale then that would b great. His servo is very slow at the moment.

You may be right Joe i have run 20 turn there in an m06 and it was fun but in my opinion too quick for a beginner which mini is suppose to be a begineer class. If i can get a 20 turn in time i will be down wednesday or maybe even crawl around with a 27 turn 😉
