im thinking of getting rid of replacing my rear diff for a ball-diff (so i can easily adjust its tightness) and maybe a one-way in the front, if not a ball-diff in the front also am i right in thinking the one-way goes in the front? and being called a "one-way", does that mean that the car cant use reverse? little bit of advice?

If you have a gear diff in the rear it's worth changing to a ball diff. It'll give a much smoother feel to the driving of the car and means you can adjust how much slip the diff gives.
One ways are pretty hairy to drive with and I wouldn't recommend them unless you are supremely confident about turn in of your car and not using the brakes. When you hit reverse a one way will not 'drive' the front wheels it will only drive the rears.
In a normal racing situation when you slow down the one way allows the front wheels to 'freewheel' essentially giving you a rear wheel drive car and also a rear wheel braking car (think handbrake turn!). The advantage of the one way is a much faster turn in to corners and usually a faster exit. BUT theres usually a car in the way and it's very tricky to 'race' another car without being able to use brakes.
If you can either use 2 ball diffs (front and rear) or try and get a ball diff in the rear and a spool or direct drive for the front. They're both much easier to drive with. The diff allows more turn in early in the corner but the spool gives you a quicker exit.
If you have a geared diff in the front you can use blu tak or a metal weld glue to 'seize' the diff and turn it into a spool very easily.
If you want to see either drive systems come over on Wednesday night and have a look in the pit box.

For an easy mod to see if you like the way it handles just leave the rear diff as is but take the front apart and try and fill the gears with some really thick grease, this will just give more 'pull' from the front of the car and should allow you to revert back if you don't like it. Ball diff's are great but more hard work to keep clean, try and keep going with the gears as long as you can just for ease of maintenance.
