Hello everyone,
I just wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I'm Jason and I came along last Sunday, but didn't get to speak to many people so I thought I'd say hi on here to everyone else.
I was getting interference from the electric fence, so couldn't race (or even practice for that matter). Anyway, I have changed my controller for a 40Mhz version and hope to come back soon.
Unfortunately I have managed to break my rc car and im now awaiting a replacement part (Although contemplating purchasing something a bit better than my tt-01)so wont be able join in until I get that sorted.
My budget isn't huge at the moment, but I'd still like a semi decent car, so can anyone recommend me one? I think the Cyclone is a little out of my budget so not that one. Or does anyone know of a second hand semi decent car for sale?
Thanks in advance..
Jas

Hi and welcome i have a associated tc4 rolling chassis that could do with a new home. It has various hopups and it is a "Factory Team" addition so it has a few extras. Its shaft driven with a carbon fibre chassis and as mentioned some nice blue bits in it.
*******(thread Jacked)*****
Sorry all off subject pm me if u would like me to go into it further.

James Hi James, Sorry I should have mentioned I'm not a great fan of the shaft driven variety. Except the Pro4 but you cant seem to buy those any more. Really im looking for a belt driven graphite/carbon chassis. Thanks for letting me know though.

I have ordered a new ally one so should hold together a bit better next time I go car park bashing ;D. I might just wait until I get a decent car though as I have run the tt-01 with a 15t brushed modified motor with a 3cell lipo ever since I got it, and I don't think it going to last much longer anyway. Might just keep it for car parks and get a new one to race with, (Obviously using my 2 cell lipo and class spec motor. Don't want to upset anybody).

My apologies for not coming over to speak to you on Sunday, it was a little hectic for me and I didn't manage to catch you before you left. Come down on Sunday with your TT01 and either Adam or myself will get you going with any bits you need, there's usually plenty of helpfull souls scattered around to give advice aswell. Race control opens for booking in at 09:30 and racing starts around 10:00, your first meeting is free ;D. Keith

Keith Thanks Keith, I'll try and pick up some tyres from Reality Racing this week then, (Since I currently only have foam rubbers, unless I'm allowed to use them). I will admit, I'm an absolute beginner when it comes to racing, so I will have a lot to learn and anticipate coming very very last. But hey, everyone has to start somewhere don't they. My car is currently set-up for going very fast down my street (Not racing) with its 15t pro modified brushed motor, 3cell lipo and low gear ratio, none of which I can use at the track, so... the only other motor I have is the stock motor which the car came with. This is a very poor motor and I doesn't make the car go very fast with my 2cell lipo, maybe you could give me some advice too in order to make it a little quicker? Otherwise it would hardly be deemed worthy of being called a race.

jason
i wouldnt worry about slick tyres for the moment, ive got a box full a slick tyres that are full of use for beginners, you can have a set or 2(foc), maybe an idea with the season as it is to get a set of wets, as there arent so many of these around the pit area.(i may be wrong) the best thing is to ask the experts before you buy anything to expensive, they wont advise you wrong trust me.
ive just picked up a cyclone for around £100, thats in great condition, i dont know what your budget is but they are around on ebay if you look, just be careful as you cant be sure of the condition, although ive always been very luck and whne they say its a1 condition i havenet been let down. often a good idea to ask for extra photos of the main parts.

I can't believe how helpful everyone is on here.
Saintroeer - If you could sort me out with a set of old tyres to get me started that would be great.
Keith - That would be superb, thank you.
I have seen a cyclone world edition kit brand new online for £200. I know its not the latest model, but could any of you guys let me know how big the difference is between that model and the new £400 version??

Very little Jason, the new TC has a slightly better diff but a worse front spool. The worlds is much better value for money, on the track you'd struggle to seperate them.

Great ;D, I will obviously do a lot more research before purchasing, but I think that this is the best car for me to start with then. I can always upgrade the diff at a later stage anyway. If the difference is small then I'm sure that for this year at least I wouldn't realise the difference myself. (Until I learn to race a little).

Its the car I and alot of others run and is brilliant. But be careful as some sites may advertise that they have it for £210 (as it was a few months ago) but they wont actually have it in stock.
Otherwise that car at that price brand new - un-built is like finding Diamonds!

Oh well, back to thinking..
